Belgrano 3 - 0 CAI

Belgrano were clear favourites for this match and the team made sure to back the pre-match odds. Although it wasn't always easy for Belgrano, they ended up controlling the match and the winning margin could have been larger. But the first half started with the CAI keeping Belgrano at bay by using a solid and intelligent display. The Belgrano wingers, Manzanelli and Garcia, were totally ineffectual and so Belgrano couldn't create any chances. And while the CAI didn't create any chances either, they seemed happy with the draw. Nearing the end of the half, the in-form Matias Gigli got himself in the scoresheet after stealing the ball from his opponent and sending the ball into the net. Suddenly, Belgrano were leading at halftime but they put on a poor display. After some brainwashing by Ferraro, the team went out decided to kill the match off. With the
more active Manzanelli and Garcia, Belgrano started to create chance after chance
while the CAI tried to launch the odd counterattack. It didn't take long for the
second goal to arrive. Martinez headed the ball into the net after a good cross. It
was 2-0. and game over. In the dying minutes, Hechalar, one of Belgrano's promising youngsters- put the icing on the cake with a fine header of his own.
By this time, the fans were already celebrating another home victory. Belgrano
was again top of the table.

Godoy Cruz 1 - 0 Belgrano

Belgrano's unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Godoy Cruz. Although it was expected to be an exciting and open match, both teams lacked quality and played a dull encounter. In fact, had Olave not faltered, the match should have been a goalless draw. The opening 10 minutes were the best of the match and both teams traded good scoring chances. After that initial period, Belgrano gave away posession but Godoy Cruz did not have any ideas. Nevertheless, it was Godoy Cruz which always seemed closer to scoring although their efforts limited to crosses and long-range shots. More worringly, Belgrano didn't have a single shot at goal. The second half promised more since both teams were bent on the attack. But the breakthrough for Godoy Cruz would come from a seemingly easy cross. Olave clashed with Gutierrez on the edge of the box, gave the ball away and Cappa placed the ball into the net with the goal at his mercy. Although Godoy Cruz had not shown much, they had looked more active. Ferraro sent Gigli and Bustos in but they didn't have much of the ball. Belgrano felt the absence of their main playmaker, Juan Casado, and they went down to an unimpressive opponent. Despite the defeat, there weren't signs of any slump in form. It was just an off-key performance.

Belgrano faces difficult away fixture

Belgrano will look to extend their unbeaten run when they travel to Mendoza to face Godoy Cruz at Malvinas Argentinas stadium .Belgrano have always struggled against El Bodeguero and they will need to put in a solid display if they want to come away with some points. Although Godoy Cruz have not impressed so far, they are always difficult to beat at their stadium. Ferraro has decided that talented youngster Mariano Aldecoa will replace Juan Casado switching back to a 442 formation. This is a good sign looking at the future as the two men upfront Aldecoa and Suarez have come through the youth ranks. Good luck to Aldecoa in his official debut. Come on guys, let's be 'avin them!
